Enterprise-ready, the CL900 offers a blend of performance, integrated features and mobility. The lightweight CL900 helps users work faster and more effectively; it provides the capabilities, applications and ergonomic easeof-use that mobile workers need to be more productive in today’s decentralized work environments.Optional configurations This section describes the optional CL900 configurations. Mobile broadband with GPS You can choose to purchase a CL900 Tablet PC with the optional mobile broadband with GPS module. When installed, the module provides:.
Worldwide mobile broadband support. Worldwide global positioning (GPS) support Motion Connection Manager is an application that you use to manage your mobile broadband and GPS network connections.Overview of the CL900 The following illustrations show the buttons, slots and ports on the CL900 Tablet PC. Top view The speaker and microphones are located on the top edge of the CL900. Speaker microphones CL900 top view Speaker Listen to audio warnings, videos, music and other multimedia applications. Microphones Use voice commands, record audio and dictate notes with the two liquid-resistant array microphones without the need for an external microphone.Front view The front of CL900 consists of a capacitive touchscreen display, web camera and battery gauge. Battery gauge Monitor battery status. When running on battery, LED lights on the front show the current level of battery charge.Back view The documentation camera is located on the back of the CL900. See “Using the cameras with Motion QuickNav” on page 30. Right side view The pen is stored in a storage drawer on the right side of the CL900.
(You may have purchased a CL900 without a drawer.Left side view Most of the CL900 connectors and slots appear on the left side of the tablet. The ports are protected by a cover which is not shown in the picture below. Fan vent Cooling unit.Pen CL900 supports touch with a pen as well as your finger. You may find the pen handy when you want to write a quick email or take notes.
The pen is particularly effective for precise data entry and navigation. The pen is a battery-powered electronic digitizer with a pressure-sensitive tip and function button. When pressed, the function button displays a right-click context menu. The pen comes with a AAAA battery and pen tether.Where to begin with your CL900 Here are some steps you can follow to power up and get familiar with your CL900 Tablet PC. Step 1: Power up the tablet 1.
Pull out the port door located at the bottom of the left side of the CL900 to expose the AC adapter port and plug in the AC adapter. Power button battery gauge CTRL+ALT+DEL power adapter port Powering up the CL900 2.
Plug the power cord into an outlet. The battery gauge turns amber to indicate that the battery is charging.To enable wireless adapters 1. Open the Motion Dashboard. From the Windows task bar, tap the Motion Dashboard icon. Tap Wireless. Tap the check boxes next to all wireless networks you intend to use:.
Enable Bluetooth Internal Wireless. Enable 802.11 Internal Wireless. Enable Mobile Broadband with GPS (If this option is not listed, your CL900 does not have mobile broadband capabilities.) NOTE: To extend battery life, enable only the wireless devices that you will be using.Set up Bluetooth The CL900 has a built-in Bluetooth adapter which provides short-range wireless connectivity with other Bluetooth enabled devices. To set up Bluetooth 1.

From the notification area, tap the Bluetooth icon and select Add a Device. Make sure the device is discoverable according to Bluetooth device manufacturer’s instructions.Lock and unlock the tablet To lock the tablet, either. Press and the security button on the left side of the tablet. If a keyboard is attached, enter Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
To unlock the tablet. Press the security button or Ctrl+Alt+Delete again. Sleep mode Place your tablet in sleep mode when you go away for a short period of time. Sleep mode conserves battery power while you are away and when you return, your desktop is the same as you left it.
Sleep is sometimes called “stand-by.For more information on power options, see “Changing how the power button functions” on page 49. Optional setup tasks Here are some other tasks you may want to do when you start out with your CL900. Create a recovery image Once you have set up your CL900 the way you like it, including installing your applications, create a system image on an external USB drive. This is a safety measure in the unfortunate event that your system stops working.TIP: You may find it helpful to use a small screw driver or something similar to assist threading the loop through the tight space of the tether attach point.

You also need to run Regsrv32 for tipband.dll that is found in%programfiles%Common FilesMicrosoft SharedInk directory (I think that's it. Excuse me if I'm a folder off).
